The Stars of Sun Show
At The Rockabilly Rave USA, we will never forget the debt we owe to the pioneers of our music. We are bringing the Sun Sound to Sin City! These guys have earned our love and respect. They played rockin music - the punk rock of the 50's - when it was not cool to do so. They were wild and frantic half a century before Johnny Rotten thought he was onto something new...! They inspired many musicians from 60's beat groups to heavy metal to modern punk, but they never made it big themselves. This is our small tribute to the Sun Sound singers. They made it big to us...
Billy Lee Riley: Red Hot, Flying Saucer Rock n Roll, Baby Please Don't Go..
Sonny Burgess: We Wanna Boogie, Red Headed Woman, Find My Baby For Me..
Hayden Thompson: Fairlane Rock, You Are My Sunshine, Love My Baby..
Carl Mann: Ubangi Stomp, Mona Lisa, Pretend..
Jack Earls: Slow Down, Crawdad Hole, Lets Bop..
The Barnstompers (Holland)
The kings of country rock make a welcome return to the USA. Tall, handsome and with a voice that chills... but enough about me! This band is without a doubt one of the finest you will see. Step back into 1954, girls will be swooning, men will be nodding and drinking beer... some things are never meant to change...
Big Sandy and the Fly Rite Boys (USA)
The band that inspired many young rockin cats on both sides of the Atlantic and still does today! Twenty years later, the Rave USA presents the current top drawer line up, still enjoying their recording, still enjoying their touring but mainly enjoying their Tequila...!!
Jack Rabbit Slim (UK)
One of the hottest properties in the UK, the inventors of Sleazeabilly should be right at home in Sin City. New album on Western Star, Sinnuendo getting plenty of airplay worldwide. New video Kitten with a Whip getting plenty of airplay... mainly in my bedroom...
Omar & the Stringpoppers (USA)
The Wild Records hit making machine returns to tear upVegas, in fine rockabilly style. No stranger to the bright lights, booze, screaming girls and controversy, (and that's just when he goes shopping...)!!! He's a local boy that's done good... let him hear how much you are crazy for him, when he walks onstage...
Luis and the Wildfires (USA)
There is no doubt that this young man is going places... probably a mental asylum will be one of them... However there is also no doubt that his music is as exciting as it gets... and right on the edge. In fact not just on the edge, but fallen off the other side! Worrying stuff.
Wildfire Willie and the Ramblers (Sweden)
The Godfather of wild rock n roll...the James Brown of rockabilly... the band that led the huge surge of rockin music across Scandanavia, and drunk the place dry at the same time. You want wild? This guy wrote the book then tore it to shreds. You heard the stories about this band? They're all true and some! You'll be amazed at their music.. I'm simply amazed that their livers still function...
The Mad Men (Croatia)
Currently one of the most exciting young rockin bands in the world, with a mesmerizing stage act. Check out their performance on the DVD, The Clothes, the Cars and the Music, and then dribble in anticipation of their show... If you do not find this show hugely entertaining, its official, you are at the wrong weekender... you clearly meant to go to the stamp collecting weekend...
Deke Dickerson and the Eccofonics (USA)
Mr Entertainment wows the crowds with his geetar trickery and his strange sense of humour. Possibly the finest entertainer on the scene today, but his stage shows do come with a public decency warning... you all know what Sugarballs is famous for, and Deke is no stranger to dropping his trousers in the middle of a performance... Do not bring your mother to this show, (especially if she is a bit grabby...)!!!
Buck Stevens (USA)
Such a nice clean cut young man, just the sort that you would want to take home to meet your mother... (except she'd already be at the Deke show getting grabby...). When you hear Buck Stevens sing, you just know that the future of rockin music is in good hands.
Miss Mary Ann & the Ragtime Wranglers (Holland)
Over 20 years and some 17 releases, with the Ranch Girls and her solo band, smiley Miss Mary Ann is one of the rockin world's most respected female singers. Joe Sixpack is her legendary guitar picker and we are flying the band out to Vegas just for you! Expect some very special guest singers to join Miss Mary Ann at the Rockabilly Rave USA!!!
Hi Q's (USA)
Matt and the boys will be flying in from Detroit for the first ever Rockabilly Rave USA. No fuss, no frills, no heavy metal... just good honest rockin music, played as God intended it to be!!! (And when I say God, you all know that I'm talking about Carl Perkins right)?!
Randy Rich & the Poorboys (Germany)
This is without a doubt the most authentic rockin combo out of Germany, with their own vintage recording equipment and great 'old' sound. If you were expecting some punk rock, leave the hall right now... If you want to soak up some early fifties style, stick around, these guys are the masters...
Charlie Thompson (UK)
Some say he has the looks of a movie star. Some say he has the voice of an angel. Some say, get off Charlie you're drunk... all we know is that he is probably the best in the world at what he does. (we mean singing... not drinking...) and we couldn't be more pleased to have him at the Rave USA. Unmissable.
The Horton Brothers (USA)
Well roll back the rug and get ready to lock up Grandma, 'cos Billy and Bobby Horton are back in town. They play on dozens of the best records played on the rockin scene, but rarely get the recognition they deserve. We have coaxed them out of Fort Horton, by telling them The Orleans keeps all of its beer supplies backstage...
